Terroir & vineyards
Château Valoussière is one of the historical estates of the Jeanjean family, acquired in 1936. The cuvée « De père en Filles » is a tribute to the Jeanjean history and value. This wine was Bernard Jeanjean’s deepest wish to create a wine that would definitely have a part of the soul and spirit of the family house.
Vinification and aging
Manual harvest. Sorting. Destemming. Cold prefermentation maceration. Fermentation in trunk vats (cuves tronconiques), of 30 hl, with daily pump-overs (1-4 per day) and one or two rack-and-returns, followed by long maceration for optimum extraction. Malolactic fermentation in barrels.
Tasting notes
An intense, bright and deep red colour. An expressive nose with small berry aromas (blackcurrant, raspberries) and liquorice notes, slightly spiced. Finesse, elegance, length. Soft tannins, long aromatic final.
Met & Wine Agreement
Serve at 16-17 ° C with a rib of beef on the barbecue, a tradition of Château Valoussière, in the courtyard under the chestnut, at the fire of vine stocks.
