Terroir & vineyards
Mas Neuf is surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea and lakes. This shell limestone soil gives the grapes such a complexity in the aromas, from the white fruit (peaches, pears) to the exotic ones and flowers. Our vineyard is planted on red clay soils, in the “La gardiole” hilly range. The Climate is warm and dry, tempered by the immediate proximity of the Sea.
Vinification and aging
Harvested late, when the grapes have reached a potential alcohol content of 14-15%, generally from mid-September. Manual harvesting in 20 kg crates. Pneumatic pressing. Selection of free-run juice and first pressings. Cold static clarification of must in vats (at around 5°C), with settling on lees for 3 to 7 days. Alcoholic fermentation started in French oak barrels, then stopped by cooling and filtration when around 70 g/l of residual sugar remains. Maturation in barrels before bottling.
A muscat with a beautiful golden colour offering a rich and powerful lychee, nut and jasmine bouquet with vanilla base notes. Smooth and aromatic in the mouth, striking a perfect balance between sugar, alcohol and liveliness.
To be served at 10 ° C as an aperitif, with a blue cheese, on a fruit tart or a chocolate dessert.
