Terroir & vineyards
The vines of Mas Of Red Lunes used for this vintage are planted on a clay-limestone complex, covered with mainly calcareous pebbles, and terraces of clay marl. The warm and dry Mediterranean climate is tempered by the sea winds. The estate is located in the middle of an ecosystem preserved Mediterranean scrubland.
A blend of Syrah (60%) and Grenache Noir (40%).
Vinification and aging
The grapes are harvested at night by a grape picking machine with embedded sorting to preserve the aromatic freshness of the grapes. The grapes are placed in thermoregulated stainless steel vats for controlled fermentation at 25 ° C. We carry out longer and more frequent daily pumping at the beginning of fermentation for a gentle extraction. The maceration of the grapes is short-lived for this vintage. The aging lasts 12 months in stainless steel tanks.
This ruby-red wine has an expressive nose with aromas of red fruits (blackcurrant, cherries), enhanced by spicy and minty notes. The palate is fruity and round with silky tannins.
