MAS DE LUNES

The sea rolled its pebbles 35 million years ago. It gave way to a preserved area of 1000 hectares of scrubland, backed by the hills of the Moure and holding in its heart one of the jewels of the Jeanjean vineyards, the Mas de Lunès. In this ecosystem apart, where hives, olive groves, game allow to live in autarky, Philippe and Frederic Jeanjean develop the wines of Lunès, as did their parents before them.
The vines of Mas de Lunès have never received chemical weed killers. To go further in this process of viticulture respectful of the environment, the entire vineyard is certified AB (organic farming) since 2013.

The vineyard of Mas de Lunès extends on gently undulating reliefs, parallel to the coast. It is characterized by the maritime influence since the Mediterranean Sea is visible from all high points. Sheltered from northerly winds drying and swept by the wetter sea winds, the grapes of Mas de Lunès keep a fresh juice and aromas intact throughout the maturation, despite the ardours of the Languedoc sun.
This very particular situation, associated with a soil of red clays with rolled stones essentially calcareous, gives the wines of Lunès a balance intensity and a mentholated character recognizable between all.
