Domain of Causse d'Arboras This is why the Domaine du Causse d'Arboras is extreme: altitude (320m) high density planting, implantation on a site breathtaking ... Everything contributes to the birth of red wines both concentrated and aerial, pure white wines and crystalline, like the limestones that have seen them born, and this northern expression of Languedoc. DOMAINE OF CAUSSE D'ARBORAS

DOMAIN OF CAUSSE D'ARBORAS, EXTREME LANGUEDOC

The landscape is breathtaking. A feeling of fullness is invading you. You are 320 meters above sea level, at the foot of Mont Saint-Baudille, the highest point in the Hérault Valley. Nicknamed the “Sentinelle du Larzac”, it marks the passage from the plain to the Larzac plateau. It is there, overlooking the medieval village of Arboras, its former silkworm and its castle of the seventeenth century, that extends the Causse d’Arboras. Cut by a deep natural fault, this exceptional place with dramatic geography enjoys a panoramic view of the entire Hérault Valley, as far as the Mediterranean Sea.
In order to respect this wild territory, the entire vineyard has been certified AB (organic farming) since 2010.

A NORTHERN EXPRESSION OF LANGUEDOC

The vineyards of the estate bloom on a plateau of limestone chips among the highest and most northern Languedoc vineyard. This altitude, combined with the continental influence of Larzac, induces a very long maturation cycle, which makes it possible to synchronize the sugar content of the grapes with optimal maturity in terms of color, tannins and aromas.
The estate has a singularity: vines planted at high density (7,000 vines / ha). Rare in Languedoc and worthy of the most famous French vineyards, this density of plantation generates a competition between the vines, which produce then only few clusters, all rich and concentrated.
